M41 Csörgő – 8bit General Project
Sound sample
Project Information
- General-purpose project that leaves room for custom light wiring.
- Designed for 8-bit ZIMO MX sound decoders.
- Recommended minimum decoder software version is 40.22.
- The factory default address is 3.
- Program CV8 = 8 to reset the decoder to the project defaults.

Setting Maximum Speed
Use CV57 to set the top speed. Changing CV5 alters the sound range, while CV57 preserves the CV3/CV4 acceleration and braking times.
Shunting Mode
Marker lights stay off in shunting mode. Turn them on together with the headlight by setting CV37 = 3.
The mode reduces acceleration and braking times to a quarter of the CV3/CV4 values. Disable this behaviour with CV124 = 16 or fully remove the timings with CV124 = 19.
Set CV124 = 0 to disable shunting mode altogether. The default value is CV124 = 18.
A short horn sounds whenever the model starts in shunting mode. The script requires F3 and F8 on plus a start from zero speed. CV837 = 8 disables it.
F5 Coasting vs F6 Engine to Maximum RPM
Coasting takes priority if both functions are active.
Compressor
The script provides two activation modes:
- Random operation while F8 is on (enabling F17 cancels it).
- Direct activation via F17 that requires F8 on and zero speed.
CV837 = 1 disables F17, CV837 = 2 disables the random mode, and CV837 = 3 disables both.
Curve Squeal
Wheel squeal engages only when F19 and F8 are active and the speed is between 14 and 100 (range 0–126). Set CV837 = 4 to switch it off.
Custom Function Mapping
Custom mapping is available via CV400 – CV428. The project itself does not use these CVs.
Decoder Reset
Program CV8 = 8 (or CV8 = 0) to return to the default project settings.

Sound Sample Numbers
"Script" means that the corresponding sound is used inside a script outside the normal CV mapping. The number is provided for standalone use when the script is disabled.
