Setting Maximum Speed

We recommend setting maximum speed via CV57, not CV5. Adjusting speed via CV5 may change the sound range. Setting speed via CV57 does not affect acceleration time (CV3) and braking time (CV4).

Shunting Mode

In the general project, marker lights are switched off in shunting mode. Models often have marker lights wired to turn on together with headlights. If this behavior is required, enable it by setting CV37 = 3.

The mode reduces acceleration and braking times to one quarter of the values set in CV3 and CV4. If this behavior is not required, disable it with CV124 = 16. Full deactivation of acceleration and braking timings is possible with CV124 = 19.

If shunting mode functionality is not required at all, disable it with CV124 = 0.

The standard project setting for shunting mode is CV124 = 18.

In shunting mode, a short horn is triggered at every start. This functionality is script-controlled.

For the short horn to trigger, three conditions must be met:

  1. The function itself must be enabled via F3.
  2. Engine sound must be enabled via F8.
  3. The model must start from zero speed.

Setting CV837 = 8 disables this functionality; the default setting is CV837 = 0.

Compressor

The project includes two script-controlled compressor behaviors:

  1. Random compressor activation, conditioned by engine sound enabled via F8. This is disabled when compressor is turned on via F17.
  2. Compressor activation via F17. This requires F8 to be enabled and speed to be zero.

Setting CV837 = 1 disables compressor activation via F17.

Setting CV837 = 2 disables random compressor activation.

Setting CV837 = 3 disables both options; the default setting is CV837 = 0.

Curve Squeal

Curve squeal is script-controlled. Several conditions must be met for activation:

  1. The feature must be enabled via F19, and engine sound must be enabled via F8.
  2. The sound does not trigger at very low speed; speed must be higher than 14 (range 0-126).
  3. The sound does not trigger at high speed; speed must be lower than 100 (range 0-126).

Setting CV837 = 4 disables curve squeal; the default setting is CV837 = 0.

Decoder Reset

You may accidentally make decoder settings that are difficult to correct. In this case, we recommend performing a decoder reset. Program CV8 = 8 to reset the project settings.
